Sculptra is an injectable collagen stimulator made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) — a biocompatible, biodegradable substance used safely in medicine for decades. Unlike a hyaluronic-acid filler, it doesn’t simply add volume; it prompts your skin to gradually produce its own new collagen.
Once injected, the PLLA microparticles act as a scaffold that activates fibroblasts, the cells that build collagen. Over the following weeks and months this rebuilds structure and volume from within, softening hollows and folds and improving overall skin quality — a subtle, natural change rather than an instant one.
