Your Journey

Your journey

Our aim is to make your journey as easy and pleasant as possible. Any new experience can be quite daunting. We’ll do our utmost to help you through what is really an easy process with a pleasant outcome. We all start somewhere.

Before we do any treatment we’ll need to perform a consultation. This allows you to discuss your requirements and us to explain what sort of treatments are suitable. Very often there are several solutions, the benefits and disadvantages of which will be explained. Together we can decide what is best for you. As well as discussing your concern Dr Dancey will ask about diet, exercise and lifestyle in order to provide you with a holistic solution that also improves your general health and increases the success of the intervention. Fat reduction treatments in particular may require a change of diet or liefstyle ; there is increasing evidence that sugars and ultraprocessed foods hamper our weight loss attempts so this must be addressed.

You may book online, by phone or in person for the consultation. This should take up to 30 minutes. We allocate time immediately after the consultation for you to start the treatment. This is not obligatory so please don’t feel any pressure. Adequate reflection about the treatment is essential to make the right decision.

The day before your appointment we will send a text reminder of the appointment time. We will assume that you are coming; failure to arrive without explanation will result in you losing the consultation/booking fee. If you are going to be late please call us as we can usually work this out.

On arrival at the clinic we will ask you to complete a medical questionnaire. You will then see the person you have booked for; in the case of strictly medical procedures Dr Dancey or Nurse Ksenia Esteves; otherwise Trainee Nurse Therapist Vicky Dorfman. They will read the questionnaire and then give you the chance to discuss your concerns. This is the most important part of the treatment; exchange of information so that we can provide you with the best options and you can make the best decision.

If you’d like to go ahead with treatment then there is normally time to do this. Assuming that there are no contra-indications and you understand the implications (sometimes the procedure can bruise or leave temporary redness) then we can proceed. The treating practitioner will ask you to sign a consent form and take a before picture (which is stored securely on our computer and not used without your consent).

Most of our procedures are easily tolerable with little or no down time. If there is a possibility of pain or discomfort then we will readily use local anaesthetic cream, local injections, or in the case of lips a dental lip numbing. It’s your choice. There is no extra charge for anaesthetic.

After the treatment you will feel fine to return to normal. Most people leave the clinic feeling fine. If you feel you might want to linger a bit and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee that is also possible. It’s entirely up to you.

For the most part make-up can be applied. We will apply recovery cream and sunblock after treatment. Post-treatment instructions will be given.

Some people chose to add the Dermalux Tri Wave after treatment; this aids recovery, minimises bruising and swelling and improves the quality of the skin. Just ask.

The most painful part is at the end – payment. We accept most credit cards, bank transfer, cash or cheques. We do not offer credit terms.
